Why Play Chess?

Chess is a game for all ages. It is a form of exercise that helps develops one's mental abilities. Studies have shown that chess can actually help develop a child's cognitive abilities such as attention, memory, decision making and creativity. This allows them to have the increased capacity to predict and anticipate consequences. A child who plays chess also tends to be more independent and self-motivated. Chess is a game that requires problem-solving, thinking ahead, planning and being systematic. It has been observed that children who play chess on a regular basis have improved academic performances and problem solving skills!
