Dear Friends,
It is of our great pleasure to inform you that the 14th ASEAN+ Age-Group Chess Championships will be held in Chiang Mai Province, Kingdom of Thailand, during 5th to 14th June 2013.
As usual, players are to compete in the U-8, U-10, U-12, U-13, U-16, U-20 Age Groups for girls and Open, plus senior category of aged 50 upwards.
As the ASEAN+ Age Group Championships have gained so much popularity in recent years, we therefore cordially welcome individual players outside ASEAN to play in this tournament as well, only that they are not entitled to receiving medals of ASEAN apart from rating points and/or titles. But they are entitled to receive the medals for ASEAN+ category, and participants from the ASEAN shall receive both medals if they perform accordingly.
Chiang Mai is a northern province of the Kingdom of Thailand located at Latitude 16⁰N and Longitude 99⁰E, about 696 kilometers from Bangkok, with the provincial total area of 20,127 square kilo meters. Chiang Mai is a world famous tourist spot as it offers many exciting places to explore, be it temples, national parks, waterfalls, umbrella and silk factories, elephant camps, orchid nurseries, hilltribe villages, etc.
Kindly email your registration to us as soon as possible in order to enable us to ascertain the number of rooms required in the official Mae Ping Imperial Hotel.
We look forward to welcoming you all to exotic Chiang Mai, Thailand, this June 2013!
Sincerely yours,
Kittiratt Na-Ranong
President
Thailand Chess Association
