These Rules and Regulations set out here shall be collectively known as the "Rules".

The Championships Generally. The 2nd National Chess960 and 2nd Transfer Chess Championships (the "C960 & TC Championships") are jointly organised by SMU MindSports and the Singapore Chess Federation. The C960 championship shall be played according to the FIDE Laws of Chess, pertaining to the FIDE Rules for Rapidplay (Appendix A) and the FIDE Rules for Chess960 (Appendix F), as modified by the Laws of Chess960 (the "C960 Laws") in
Appendix 1. The TC Championship shall be played according to the FIDE Laws of Chess and the FIDE Rules for Blitz (Appendix B), as modified by the Laws of Transfer Chess (the "TC Laws") in Appendix 2.

The appendices contain last year's Laws of Chess960 and Laws of Transfer Chess. There will be some changes (which are mainly technical or cosmetic) to the Laws for these Championships. The final C960 Laws and TC Laws are to be disseminated during the Players' Meeting (see 11. Players' Meeting).

Timeline. The timeline for the Championships is as follows:

Venues are subject to change based on availability and number of entries.

Categories and Eligibility. All entries in these Championships shall compete in the Open Category. Transfer chess pairs may be single-gender or mixed. 

7. System of Play & Time Control. The Championships shall utilise the Swiss system. The C960 Championship shall comprise 9 rounds, and the time control is 15 minutes per player. The TC Championship shall comprise 13 rounds, and the time control is 5 minutes per player. The system of play and time controls are subject to exigencies.

Entry Fees and Payment. The Entry Fees for the Championships are as follows:

Entry Fees for the Championships include a complimentary lunch and some light refreshments.

pplications are accepted on a first come, first served basis. Applications do not constitute automatic acceptance into the tournament and SMU MindSports reserves the right to accept or reject entries. 
Applicants who knowingly or negligently volunteer false or incomplete information may be disqualified from the Championships, and the respective Entry Fees may be forfeited at the discretion of SMU MindSports. Entry Fees will not be refunded for withdrawn entries. An entry will only be deemed effective and accepted when the entry fees have been received and a confirmation e-mail has been sent to the players. 

Closing Date. The closing date for entries for the Championships is Wednesday, 18 June 2014 at 11.59 pm. All confirmation e-mails shall be sent out by Friday, 20 June 2014. SMU MindSports reserves the right to accept late entries at a surcharge of S$5.00 per player per tournament.
