Time Control: Swiss system of 9 rounds, time control 3 minutes with 2 second increment from move 1. |
ENTRY FEE: $20.
Round 1 starts 9.00 am sharp. Players must report by 8.45 am failing which they will not be paired for the first round. TIE BREAKS will resolve placing.

Additional Information:
- All entries are to be submitted with entry fee paid by November 4th 2015 10pm. Cheques are to be made out to "THOMSON CCMC". Please do not send cash. We do not entertain paying on the day of the competition.
- All games are to be conducted under FIDE Laws of Chess for Rapid Chess and Blitz.
- Kindly be appropriately attired on the 2nd day of competition (no sandals, flip-flops for footwear)
- A participant may win only 1 prize at any event.
- Recording of games is not compulsory but any claim should be backed by a recorded scoresheet of moves of both players
- Lunch is not provided.
- Zero start rule is not enforced at this tournament.
- For the Thomson Cup Rapid, there may be changes to the starting times. The Tournament
- Director shall announce the starting time of the next round once all games have ended.
- All mobile devices must be switched off or put in silent mode. View of, or sound emitted from a participants' mobile device found within his or her proximity shall immediately lose the game.
- Prizes for the Thomson Blitz shall be awarded right after the results are declared. The prize giving for the Thomson Cup Rapid and Challengers shall be held approximately 6.45 pm November 8 Sunday.
- All players are not allowed to use the chess sets for friendly games after their games are completed.
- All decisions pertaining to the games are to be decided by the arbiters who may refer to the Chief Arbiter. The Chief Arbiter's decision shall be final.
- Tie Breaks for all 3 events based on (1) Direct Encounter (2) Buchholz Cut 1 (3) Buchholz Cut 2
- Players and accompanying persons are reminded to keep quiet at all times when in the tournament hall.
- For drivers, free parking is available Sunday at Shunfu Blk 309-314 at the back of the CC. Enter via Shunfu Road along Marymount Road.
- The Organisers reserve the right to refuse entry to participants without assigning any reasons.
- The entry fee in this case shall be refunded to the participant.
