(excerpt from MOE letter)
It was announced in 2012 by MOE that all sports coaches/instructors who are offering their service to the schools will have to undergo a mandatory workshop that focuses on values inculcation and character development through Sports Co-Curricular Activities (CCA).
The half-day "National Standards for Youth Sports Workshop" did not include the segment on Coaching in Singapore Schools from MOE. The key topics covered in the Coaching in Singapore School segment is the 21st Century Competencies Framework which includes the desired outcomes of education, philosophy of the cirriculum, guiding principles and underlying philosphies.
Please be informed that coaches are required to attend both segments in the Coaching in Singapore Schools from MOE and National Standards for Youth Sports from Sport Singapore segements before you can be considered for registration* with MOE as a Sports CCA coach/instructor. While you may eb able to be considered for provisional registration up to 2015, you are strongly encouraged to attend the bridging workshop early, to ensure there are available places.
