52ND QUEENSTOWN CC OPEN CHESS CHAMPIONSHIP 2023

1.    The Championship will be organised and played according to the FIDE Laws of Chess

and the FIDE Rules for 60-minute Rapid Chess.

2.    The schedule for the Championship is as follows:

26 August 2023, Saturday   Round 1             9.00am to 11.00am

Round 2            11.30am to 1.30pm

Round 3            2.30pm to 4.30pm

Round 4            5.00pm to 7.00pm

27 August 2023, Sunday      Round 5             9.00am to 11.00am

Round 6            11.30am to 1.30pm

Round 7             2.30pm to 4.30pm

Prize giving       5.30pm to 6.30pm

3.   System: Swiss System of 7 rounds.

4.   Venue: Queenstown Community Centre.

5.   Entry fees: $30.00

All entries must be registered online. Online registration and payment can be made at onepa.gov.sg

(Please note that entry fees will not be refunded for withdrawn entries)

6.   Format: The tournament will be divided into 2 sections:

Open Section           :    Open to all participants.

Novice Section        :    Open only to participants with no FIDE rating.

7.   Prizes: The first prize for the Open Section is $400.00 and $200.00 for the Novice Section. All

other prizes will be announced during the tournament.

8.   Closing Date: 13th August 2023 at 5.00pm. Late entries (including entries by post, fax, e-mail

and internet) will not be accepted. Confirmed entries shall be posted on the QCC Chess Club

website: www.chessqcc.site.me

Limited to 1st 180 entries. Entries will close earlier once the maximum number is reached.

9.   Tie Break:  According to Swiss-manager tie break
