Important Updates for National Schools Individual 2024

Dear Participants, School Officials, Chess Parents and all stakeholders of the upcoming NSI 2024,

We have the following important news and updates.

1) SCF has received numerous requests from a number of schools to extend the deadline for registration in the National Schools Individual (NSI) 2024. In view of these requests, we have decided to extend our deadline to 26th February, 1800 hours. We hope that this will allow participants ample time to submit their registrations.

2) In respect of FIDE ID – please note that SCF will exercise best efforts to have a timely turnaround. However, please apply for the ID at least 2 days before the deadline, i.e. 24th February, to allow our admin team sufficient time to process the applications.

3) We have already received a large number of entries and expect even more entries to be received within the next few days. In the interest of the safety of the participants, better crowd management and allowing as many to participate as possible, the SCF has decided to include an additional host to manage the event. We are proud to have Overseas Family School come on board as our co-host and we thank them for their generosity and support.

4) This year’s NSI shall therefore be jointly hosted by Senja-Cashew Community Club and Overseas Family School. Details of which venues the different categories will play at will be finalized after the extended deadline. Please note that both tournament venues will observe the same schedule as previously stated in our rules and regulations: http://tinyurl.com/2024NSIRegulations

5) All players and officials are advised to KIV all logistical arrangements until we announce the location for each category. We apologise for the inconvenience and thank you for your understanding.

As always, we thank the Chess Community for your continuous support and we look forward to working with CSN@Cashew, Senja Cashew CC and OFS to bring you a fun and memorable NSI 2024!

Regards,
