On 30th July 2022, SUTD Chess Interest Group (@sutd_chess ) hosted the inaugural SUTD Team Blitz Championships. 16 teams consisting of 64 players took part and the following teams came out on top:

1st Place: Raffles Institution Team A
2nd Place: National University of Singapore Team B
3rd Place: National University of Singapore Team A
4th Place: Anglo-Chinese School (Independent)

With that, the Students’ Inter-Varsity Chess Alliance (SiVCA) Month of Speed Chess comes to an end. Props to SUTD Chess Interest Group for hosting their first (and incredibly successful) tournament, and shout-out to the volunteers and arbiters who made this possible!

With more student organisations stepping forward to host such events, we hope that our varsity chess enthusiasts are given more opportunities to pursue their interest, thus contributing towards a vibrant tertiary chess scene.
