Asian Mind Sports Festival 2025

Rapid and Blitz Chess       
RULES AND REGULATIONS

1. Background

The Asian Mind Sports Association and Singapore Chess Federation are pleased to invite participants to the first ever Asian Mind Sports Festival to be held in Singapore from 12 November (arrival) to 16 November (departure) 2025. 

2. Eligibility

All National Chess Federations under the Olympic Council of Asia (OCA) are invited to participate in this event. Due to the event capacity, there is a limit of 10 players per federation (not applicable for Singapore).

The Singapore Chess Federation reserves the right to select players registered under the SGP flag on the FIDE website and will confirm successful applicants via email within 1 week after registration closes.

3. Schedule

3.1 Registration Closing Date: 10 October 2025, 6pm Singapore time. 

3.2 The tournaments shall be played under the FIDE Laws of Chess (Blitz and Rapid respectively)

3.3 There are two separate events with respective schedules below

3.4 The following are the tentative schedules for the events. The organiser reserves the right to amend dates and time if necessary.

4. Time Control

4.1 Rapid: 15 mins + 10 seconds increment from move 1

4.2 Blitz: 5 mins + 3 seconds increment from move 1

4.3 Default time for both events is when the clock runs to zero.

5. Playing Venue

5.1 Suntec Singapore Convention & Exhibition Centre, 1 Raffles Boulevard Singapore 039593, Lvl 3 

5.2 All rounds will start promptly in accordance with the schedule.

6. Tie Break

6.1 Tie breaks for Rapid and Blitz are based on the following in successive order:

6.6 Cumulative system – Sum of Progressive Scores (Sum of Progressive Scores: After each round a player has a certain tournament score. These scores are added to determine the total Sum of Progressive Score)

Resolution

7.1 The Singapore Chess Federation shall appoint all arbiters for the events, including the Match and Chief Arbiters. 

7.2 All disputes are ruled by the Match Arbiter(s).

7.3 Appeals to the decision shall be made to the Chief Arbiter, whose decision shall be final.

7.4 No further correspondence shall be entertained.

8. Registration & Prizes 

8.1 Eligible participants described in point 2,  may register their interest via this link. SCF will inform selected participants via email within 1 week after registration closes

8.2 There are no entry fees for this event. Eligible and selected participants are required to make arrangements for their own accommodations

8.3 Foreigners who want to play in the event must make their private arrangements to get their VISA approved where applicable. The Singapore Chess Federation may, at request, issue invitation letters to facilitate VISA applications. Kindly write to singchess@singaporechess.org.sg for such requests

8.4 Prizes will be awarded to the overall top four players, along with category prizes for participants under 18. The prize details are as follows:

8.4 The Organiser reserves the right to amend prizes at any time. Any adjustments will be announced during the technical meeting.
