Mission of the Role

SCF has two core goals:

  1. Train high-level athletes (national squads, performance pathways), and

  • Promote trials, selection events, and squad intakes; maintain accurate calendars, pages, and FAQs.
  • Produce athlete stories, result recaps, and sponsor-aligned content; prepare press/partner notes.
  • Manage clear communications to athletes/parents (EDMs, notices, forms, confirmations).

Pillar B — Public Awareness & Participation

  • Plan and execute campaigns for beginner courses, schools/community programmes, roadshows, and tournaments.
  • Own the funnel end-to-end: optimize landing pages, forms, FAQs, and checkout to increase course/event sign-ups.
  • Run social, email, and light paid ads; build outreach lists; handle community moderation and timely updates.

Event Responsibilities

  • Registration Ops: Set up WooCommerce listings and confirmations; export attendee lists; prepare check-in sheets/badges; align info desks with site/EDMs.
  • On-Site: Lead registration/check-in and queue flow; liaise with parents/schools/participants; set up signage and photo backdrops; coordinate stage flow/awards with officials; capture quick photo/video for same-day socials; escalate issues appropriately.
  • Stakeholders/Sponsors: Deliver promised logo placements, mentions, banners, and photo ops.

Post-Event: Collate feedback, reconcile light expenses, curate photo selects, and produce a short wrap-up with learnings to improve conversions.

Core Skills You’ll Use

  • Content & Design: Social tiles/reels, short videos, EDMs; Adobe Photoshop/Illustrator (Canva ok); basic video editing (Premiere/CapCut).
  • Web & Registration: WordPress updates (basic HTML/CSS helpful); WooCommerce listings/checkout information.
  • Email & CRM: Mailchimp/SendGrid, segmentation, A/B testing; PDPA-compliant data handling.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with events, coaching, and operations to meet timelines and ensure information accuracy.

What You Bring

  • 0–2 years’ experience in digital marketing/comms or fresh graduate with strong projects/portfolio and a fast-learning mindset.

  • Comfort with WordPress; familiarity with WooCommerce is a plus.
  • Basic analytics and spreadsheet skills.
  • Excellent written and spoken English.

  • Organized, people-friendly, calm under live-event pressure; able to handle light event setup.
  • Interest in chess or sports is a plus; additional language ability is a plus.
