SCF June Invitational

Dates: 9 to 15 June 2025

Format:
90 minutes + 30 seconds / move
7 rounds, FIDE-rated

Purpose
Tournament practice for the players representing Singapore in the international events.

Overview
1.1          The tournament is organised by SCF.
1.2          The tournament is FIDE rated.
1.3          The maximum number of participants is limited at 64 players. First come, first served.
1.4          Playing Venue – SCF,  51 Bishan St. 13, Singapore 579799.

System of Play
3.1          The tournament is a 7 rounds Swiss.
3.2          Tie breaks shall be used in the following order:

(1) Buchholz Cut-1
(2) Buchholz
(3) Sum of Progressive Scores
(4) Toss of a Coin.

3.3          This tournament is FIDE-rated and players need a licensed FIDE ID. Players without FIDE ID should apply for FIDE ID via SCF.
3.4          All decisions made by the Chief Arbiter shall be final.

Eligibility and Entry Fee

  • NTP members who are participating in international tournaments in June-July 2025 – FOC.
  • Players registered to play in World Cup (Batumi), ASEAN Age Group (Penang) or Eastern Asia Youth (Zhuhai), who are not NTP members – $20 (21.8 inclusive GST)
  • Seniors (50+) and para-athletes – $20 (21.8 inclusive GST)
  • Players with rating above 1600 FIDE (Standard) – $60 (65.4 inclusive GST)

Rating shall be the FIDE Standard rating published in the 1 May 2025 FIDE Rating List.

Schedule & Time Control
5.1          The time control is 90 minutes for the whole game, with an increment of 30 seconds per move starting from move 1 (90 min + 30 sec).
5.2          15 minutes default time.
5.3          No draw offers are allowed before move 40.

If players are tied on points, the Tie-breaks will be followed.

Each eligible recipient will receive a chess book of his/her choice and an event certificate

Additional Rules
7.1          FIDE Laws of Chess and FIDE Fair Play Regulations apply.
7.2          It is compulsory for both players to record all the moves.
7.3          After each game players must deliver the original and complete scoresheets, signed by both players, to the arbiter.
7.4          Talking to other players and spectators is not allowed during the game. Players may talk to the arbiter or their opponent only as permitted by the Laws of Chess.
7.5          Players who have finished their games must leave the playing area as soon as possible.
7.6          Players are not allowed to bring mobile phones, smartwatches, playback and recording devices, or any other electronic devices into the playing area. Any device that can be seen, felt or heard in the playing area will result in forfeit and immediate disqualification.

7.7          Players who wish to skip any rounds must have a valid reason and inform the Chief Arbiter before the pairing is published. A defaulter will lose the right to play subsequent rounds.
7.8          Players are obliged to obey Tournament Regulations.
7.9          The organisers reserve the right to amend the Tournament Regulations at any time with immediate effect.
