On 7 September, the SCF was pleased to award financial rewards to certain individuals who have performed well in regional age group and open events. This initiative, titled “NTP Financial Rewards Framework” was approved by the SCF Governing Board in August 2025. Only NTP Trainees who are registered at the point of award are eligible for these rewards.
This new initiative is meant to provide encouragement for young players who have performed strongly for the Singapore team at age group events. In addition, we also wish to support top players of the country who have managed to deliver at the highest levels. In addition, SCF also seeks to reward players for achieving the following titles:
Grandmaster: S$10,000
International Master: S$5,000
Woman Grandmaster: S$3,000
Woman International Master: S$2,000
(Rewards may be stacked as a player progresses from one title to the next title)
The final incentives for each title and sporting achievement are dependent on the financial position of the Singapore Chess Federation.
As a start, the following players were rewarded based on their performances at the ASEAN Age Group Chess Championships 2025 “AAG”, the East Asian Youth Chess Championships 2025 “EAY”, and the FIDE Zone 3.3 Chess Championships 2025:
